In 2c8 Portal, you can manage users, licenses, products, publishing sites, and servers. In this article, we briefly go through all parts of 2c8 Portal.
You can find 2c8 Portal by searching https://portal.2c8.com in your web browser. The first thing you encounter is a login box where you use your 2c8 Apps account to log in. If you are an administrator user in 2c8 Portal, you have full permissions in 2c8 Portal. This means you can administer users, licenses, products, and servers. You navigate to the various parts of 2c8 Portal in the left panel.
Below, you can read about the different parts of 2c8 Portal.
"Home"
At the top of this page, you will find your products. Here, you can access FAQs and manuals for each product.
You can also add a recovery email in case you change workplaces or lose access to your primary email. This is a way to protect your account.
"Active Logins" - here, you can see all your active logins, indicating the device you logged in from, the location, and when the login was active. Note that mobile devices are listed as "null on null," and the location may not always correspond to your physical location due to IP addresses and networks.
You also have the option to "Log out of all sessions" if, for example, you suspect that someone else has logged in with your account.
"Administrators" - here, you can see a list of administrators for your organization.
"Customer Information" In this view, you can see your details such as address, postal code, city, country, and email. These details are used for billing purposes.In this view, you will also find an activity log showing the latest activity in 2c8 Portal, such as when a user has been added to a server or when a new license has been obtained.You will also find information about Requesters, System Owners, and Receivers of operational information here.
"Users"
Here, you will find a list of all your users. This is where you create users, invite external users, manage tags, or edit existing users.By clicking the "Show/Hide" button, you can choose to display columns that provide more information about the users in the list. The columns you can display in the list are:
"Type" (whether the user is an administrator or not)
"Applications" (which applications the user has access to)
"Servers" (which servers the user has access to)
"Groups" (which groups the user belongs to)
"Publishing Sites" (which publishing sites the user has access to)
"Tags" (any tags assigned to the user)
To create a user, click on "Create user" You can learn more about how to create a user in this article: How do I add a new user for 2c8 Apps? To invite an external user, change multiple users, or manage tags, click on the three dots: [three dots icon].
It is also in this view that you send invitations to 2c8 Apps users to activate their accounts. You can read more about this in this article: How do I, as a Portal administrator, send a new activation link to a user?
"Groups"
In this view, you create and manage your groups. You can learn more about groups in this help article: We want to start using groups, how should we think about groups?
"Applikations"
This view lists all your applications. You can also see the number of users on each application. By clicking on an application, you can access another view where you can add users to the application. You can learn more about this in this article: How do I add a new user for 2c8 Apps?
"Servers"
In this view, you find all your servers. Here, you can add new servers and manage users and groups on your servers. You can also see the version of the server, the server address, and the number of users on the server.
By clicking on a server in the list, you can add users or groups to the server and set permissions for users on the server. The permissions a user can have on the server are:
- Server Administrator
- Manage repositories
- Receive drafts
Note that you must first add the user under "Users" and assign the user an application before you can add them to the server.
"Publishing sites"
Here, you add and manage publishing sites. Note that you must have a publishing site with 2c8 to add it to 2c8 Portal and thus automatically access the publishing site in your repositories.
"My account"
At the bottom right of 2c8 Portal, you can see your name and the organization you belong to. By clicking on your initials and then on "Account Settings," you can edit your account information.
Here, you can edit/add information such as:
- First Name
- Last Name
- Secondary Email
- Phone Number
- Password (you can change your password here)
- Two-Factor Authentication (for logging in with your 2c8 Apps account, activation of this function is required)
- ID Token (for server activation)
- Language (for 2c8 Portal)
