Prefixes can be set on models, objects and document links in 2c8 Apps. They can be explained as a support for the hierarchy, a complement to the visual. You can use prefixes to classify your models, objects or document links.
Prefixes are usually written in numbers, such as 1.1. Each prefix is unique, which means that the same prefix cannot exist on two different models. However, an object can have the same prefix as a model or a document link, and vice versa.
To set a prefix on a model, for example, right-click on an empty area in the model and select "Properties". Then click on the "ID and rights" tab.
The same principle applies to objects and document links.

You can later in the web profile choose whether you want to show prefixes in the published material or not. You do this under "Advanced settings" in the web profile.
