You need to be an administrator on your server to do this.
A repository configuration is created in the Administration Tool. You can find the Administration Tool under "Tools" - "Start Administration Tool..." in 2c8 Modeling Tool.
You will now get a new application called "2c8 Administration Tool". The first thing you are greeted with is a start page. The left part of the home page shows the local part of configurations and repositories, and the right part shows profiles, configurations and repositories on the server. If you want to create a new repository configuration on the server, you start by logging in to the server in the upper right corner of the Administration Tool.
Then click "plus" next to "Server repository configurations".
Then choose that your new configuration should be based on "Standard configuration".
A new tab will now open with your new configuration. Here you make all the settings mentioned in this FAQ: What is a repository configuration?
In the left panel, you can navigate between different settings regarding models, objects, relationships, etc.
Don't forget to name your configuration.
You can now see that your created repository configuration is under "Configurations".
This repository configuration will now come up as a choice for all new repositories that you create on your server, and the repository will thus be based on the rules and settings you made in the repository configuration.
If you want to apply the repository configuration you created to an already existing repository, grab the configuration and drag it down to the repository you want to apply it to.
