Before you can start creating models in the 2c8 Modeling Tool, you need to create a repository. Read more about what a repository is in this FAQ: What is a repository?
How to create a repository:
Click the plus sign, either in the "Local" tab or the "Server" tab depending on where you want your repository to be saved.
Then choose a name for the repository. You can choose here whether you want to create a completely empty repository or whether you want to create a repository on an export file you have. You can read more about how to make an export in this FAQ: How do I create an export of my material?
If you choose to create an empty repository, you can also choose which configuration you want the repository to be based on. By default, a repository is based on a standard configuration, but you can also choose your own configuration, or an organizational one. Read more about configurations in this FAQ:
When you have made your choices, click on "OK" to create the repository.
Now the repositories will appear in the list of repositories.
