Capability model

A capability model is a type of model used to illustrate an organization’s capabilities or capacity, typically in terms of the skills, knowledge, processes, and resources required to achieve its goals.

The capability model is used to identify and prioritize areas for improvement, align resources with organizational capabilities, and enhance overall performance within the organization. The model serves as a framework for organizations to understand and assess their capabilities in order to make informed decisions about how to improve and achieve their objectives.

Within the capability model, capability objects were used to describe in detail the information that each capability needs to manage, the processes that realize the capability, the organizational unit responsible for managing it, and the applications that support its execution.

The model can also describe the relationships between capabilities in terms of information exchange.
