Preparation for server upgrade hosted by 2c8

If you book an upgrade, you need to make sure you are prepared for the upgrade. Depending on the current version your organization is on, the preparations may differ. Read below what you need to do based on this.

Upgrade server hosted by 2c8 from version 5.3 or lower

Please forward this info directly to your IT-department that can help with the preperation.

Before the upgrade, you need to read through these points and the associated documents:

• Users cannot work against the server during the upgrade time.
  
  
• Decide who/which of you will have the role of Portal administrator and administer your users/licenses/servers in the portal. This user is responsible for ensuring that users' email addresses are correct in the 2c8 Portal.
  
  
• During the upgrade, all your users will receive an email with a link to activate their account in the 2c8 Portal and set their password. This account will then be used by users to log into 2c8 Apps and 2c8 Portal.
  
  
• You need to send out new msi packages to users for 2c8 to be installed in connection with or after the upgrade:

• Open up the clients for
  - idp.2c8.com
  - as.2c8.com

• Users cannot work against the server during the upgrade time.

• If you are upgrading to 2024.1 new MSI package needs to be installed on the users computers:
