Preperation for server upgrade on prem

If you book an upgrade, you need to make sure you are prepared for the upgrade. Depending on the current version your organization is on, the preparations may differ. Read below what you need to do based on this.

Please forward this information directly to the IT person who will be involved in the upgrade.

Before the upgrade, you need to read through these points and the associated documents:

• Remember to backup the database before upgrading.
  
  
• During the upgrade, you need to ensure that no user is working against the server.
  
  
• To perform the upgrade, we need information on how to remotely connect to the server, accounts for logins (make sure they are active accounts) and any other settings that need to be made. The upgrade takes about 1-2 hours.
  
  
• If access to the Internet is missing from the server, you need to place installation files for 2c8 Server functionality on the server where the Payara application server is to be installed. Contact support@2c8.com for information about what files that is needed.
  
  
• For upgrades to 2024.1 a new MSI package needs to be installed on client computers:

• Outgoing trafic to plugins.2c8.com port 443 needs to be open from the server.
  
  
• The server certificate should be in pfx or p12 format on the application server. The same certificate used in your current installation can be reused.
