Copy an object by right-clicking the object and selecting "Copy" (shortcut CTRL + C). Paste the object as a copy by right-clicking on the model area and selecting "Paste as copy" (shortcut CTRL + Shift + V). The new object will get "(Copy)" added to the title. The object will get a unique ID and changes you make to the properties of the object will not affect the original object.
If you remove "(Copy)" from the title of the object, you will get a question asking if you want to reuse the object or create a duplicate. If you reuse the object it will be the same object as the original, which means that changes you make to the object will reflect in all places where the object is being used. If you choose to create a duplicate, the object will get a unique ID but have the same title as the original object. Changes you make to the new object will not affect the original object. |
If you instead want to copy the object and reuse it somewhere else, copy the object the same way but when you paste it, select "Paste" (shortcut CTRL + V). Making changes in the properties of the object will result in the original object changing since it's the same object that is being reused. These changes could for example be changing values of fields, descriptions, or documents connected to the object. Changing the color or size of the object does not affect the original object.
