Before You Start
To create a LiveView publication site, you need:
- A Subscription or Enterprise agreement
- 2c8 Server version 2025.2 or later
- You can check your server version under Servers in the 2c8 Portal.
- To schedule an upgrade, click here.
- Permissions as both:
- Server Administrator
- Portal Administrator
- If you are unsure which agreement you have, please contact sales@2c8.com.
Important Before You Start
Most organizations want to restrict access to their LiveView publication. Therefore, before creating a publication, you should decide how access will be managed.
This is typically done through:
- OIDC / Single Sign-On (SSO)
- IP restrictions
These options typically require coordination with your IT department or IT partner to obtain the required information. The configuration in 2c8 is usually carried out by the person creating the publication.
We therefore recommend that you:
- Read through the entire article before you begin.
- Contact your IT department early in the process.
- Ensure you have the correct OIDC or IP information before creating the publication.

This video demonstrates:
- An introduction to the Web Profile
- How to create a LiveView publication site
The video does not cover the technical configuration of OIDC (SSO) or IP restrictions. These parts typically require assistance from your IT department.
The video is divided into chapters, allowing you to jump directly to the relevant section.

Choose Access Control
There are three ways to control access to a LiveView publication.
-
OIDC (Recommended – Most Secure for Organizations)
Choose this option for Single Sign-On (SSO). The settings are typically entered by the person setting up the publication site, while the required values are usually provided by your IT department or Identity Provider administrator.
For technical configuration of OIDC/SSO, see the article: -
IP Range Restriction
Choose this option to restrict access to specific IP addresses or networks. The IP addresses or network ranges to be allowed are typically provided by your IT department -
Freely Available
Choose this option if the publication should be accessible to everyone. Anyone with the link will be able to access the publication.
Complete the Setup
- Click Create.
- Wait up to 5 minutes.
It may take a few minutes before the publication becomes available.
Find the Publication Link
The server address is the URL shown in your browser while you are in the server settings. It may look something like this:
https://example.2c8.com/MTServer-WEB/live-publications/create
To find the URL for your LiveView publication, use only the first part of the address—the server address:
https://example.2c8.com
The part that comes after (/MTServer-WEB/live-publications/create) is only part of the administration interface and should not be included in the publication URL.
The publication URL is built using:
Server Address + /live + Context Root (Path)
Example:
Server address:
https://example.2c8.com
Context Root:
processes
Result:
https://example.2c8.com/live/processes
