Log in to the 2c8 Portal
Log in to the 2c8 Portal in your web browser using your 2c8 Apps account:
Manage users
Under the Users menu, you can:
- View all users in the organization
- View user types
- See which applications a user has access to
- Create new users
- Update user information
- Send new invitations
The following user types may be displayed:
- Normal
- Portal Administrator
Send a New Invitation
- Open Users
- Click Send New Invitation
Create a User
- Go to Users
- Click Create User

Invite External Users
External users from other organizations or from 2c8 can be invited to your environment. This is typically used to grant consultants or other external users access to your server.
- Go to Users
- Click Invite External User
Manage Groups
Under the Groups menu, you can:
- Create groups
- Add users to groups
- Use groups to manage server access
By granting a group access to a server, all users within that group will gain access to the server.
Manage Application Licenses
Under the Applications menu, you can view:
- Which applications the organization has access to
- Number of licenses in use
- Number of available licenses
Click on an application to:
- See which users have a license
- Assign licenses
- Purchase additional licenses
Manage Servers
Under the Servers menu, you can:
- View the organization's servers
- Grant users access to servers
- Grant groups access to servers
- Manage permissions
We recommend using groups instead of individual users for access management.

Administration in 2c8 Apps
Repositories
Under Repositories, you can:
- Create repositories
- Rename repositories
- Delete repositories
Dashboard
The Dashboard displays:
- Models the user is responsible for
- Models connected to maintenance roles
- Drafts submitted by 2c8 Lite users
Users with the Receive Drafts permission can:
- Manage models submitted from 2c8 Lite
Manage Users and Permissions
Users and groups are managed through the 2c8 Portal.
To grant access to a repository:
- Open 2c8 Modeling Tool
- Navigate to Users and Permissions
- Select the user you want to grant access to
- Click Give Access to Repository
- Choose the repository and confirm the action
You can also:
- Right-click the user
- Drag the user to a repository
Within each repository, it is possible to add permission groups created in the 2c8 Portal.

Using the 2c8 Administration Tool
What Is the Administration Tool Used For?
The 2c8 Administration Tool allows you to manage:
- Repository configurations
- Application profiles
- Default profiles for server functions
Start the Administration Tool
- Open 2c8 Modeling Tool
- Go to:
Tools → Start Administration Tool
Log In to the Server
- Select a server in the upper-right corner
- Click Login
- Sign in using your 2c8 Apps account

Service status
View Service status
